Gary S. Holveck of Pennsylvania shares my high regard for Abbott's Canvas Covered Box: "Your column is very interesting to me. It doesn't matter if I own the illusion you are writing about. Having just read the February article, I wanted to write and share a few thoughts.
"My wife, Jeanne, and I were ready for the Canvas Covered Box in 1974. We found one for sale from a man in the midwest for $450.00. I later found out that this particular trunk was built in September 1949. There is a mint mark inside the lid.
