Kent Richards was killed in an altercation February 7 at 6:30 P.M. on the Island of St. Thomas in the Virgin Isles. We have no further details at press time.
Kent Richards was one of the most promising Illusionists in America. His illusions and style of presentation were original and very appealing. He and his wife, Dottie, have been professionals for many years and have a creditable list of engagements in their favor. For five months they performed on the
Italian Line's superliner, Michelangelo, and also entertained on the maiden voyage of the Raffaello. They were presented the Houdini Award at the IBM Convention in 1963. In 1966 they performed before the late President Lyndon B. Johnson.
In 1972 they were awarded the Gwynne Trophy at Abbott's Get-Together and did an encore performance in 1973. Our sincere thoughts and prayers are extended to Dottie and to members of Kent's family.
