Lance Burton
Lance Burton will be lecturing at the 86th Get Together. Lance entered his first competition as a magician at Abbott's in 1977 and walked away with first prize. His maturity as a performer was becoming evident. It was no longer a matter of if, but when, the "break" would come. The recognition from his peers continued. In 1980, shortly after his 20th birthday, Lance Burton became the first winner of the coveted "Gold Medal for Excellence" from the International Brotherhood of Magicians. Lance decided that the time was right to leave home and move to Southern California. Bill and Milt Larsen immediately signed him up for their annual "It's Magic" show and used their contacts to have him introduced to all of America by Johnny Carson on "The Tonight Show." This one appearance put Lance Burton permanently into the pages of magic history. Lance honored his country on July 10, 1982 by winning the "Grande Prix" that recognized him as a "World Champion Magician." Lance Burton was both the first American and the youngest performer to be so honored. His star continued to ascend. Lance was brought back to "The Tonight Show" with Johnny Carson nine more times, for a total of 10 appearances and has appeared 5 more times with Jay Leno as the host. Hailed by Dai Vernon, the universally acknowledged "Patriarch of Magic," as "The most brilliant magician of this century." He was twice awarded "Magician of the Year" by the Academy of Magical Arts. He was honored to have performed for President Reagan, (during his presidency) and Mrs. Reagan, in Washington, D.C. In 1998, the first Blackstone Theatre Award was presented to Lance Burton for excellence in the arts. Lance Burton recently completed his fourth TV special which will be shown worldwide along with a new television special featuring young magicians. His specials air regularly on FOX Family Channel and internationally. He's a regular guest on talk shows such as "The Tonight Show" with Jay Leno and "The Late, Late Show" with Craig Kilborn. His homecoming was in November of 1999 when the Louisville native returned to his hometown to perform five shows at the 2,000-seat Kentucky Center for the Arts. He also performed at the Cerritos Center for the Arts in California in 1999 and 2000 selling out the $70 million theatre. In nearly every poll Lance Burton has been voted "Best Magician" and "Best Entertainer." In the R-J's 1999 Editor's Poll he was chosen as "Favorite Male Las Vegan" for his contributions to community charities. Especially The Shriners, The Variety Club and New Vista Ranch. The Legend Continues!

Fielding West
It all began in the beginning. Who would ever believed that Fielding West was literally made in Japan. Conceived in the northern island of Hokkaido, Japan. His father, a US Air Force officer, wanted his first male child to be born in America. He was transferred to Boise, Idaho just-in-time for Fielding to arrive. Ten years later he was introduced to Magic by his grandfather who was an amateur magician. After high school, Fielding put himself through college, paying for his degree by performing in a band as a drummer and doing magic shows for children. In 1973 while selling cars and going to graduate school at night in Tallahassee, Florida, he met an unknown comedy magician named Steve Martin. That's right, the Steve Martin, before he became famous. After seeing Steve perform, he knew that he wanted to be in show business for the rest of his life. The concept of a comedy act began. Three years later he moved to Jacksonville, Florida and started his own Saturday morning children's show on television with a Post/Newsweek station, WJ XT. The name of the show was Magic Gang and was the highest rated kids show in it's time slot for two years. Not being satisfied with entertaining only children, Fielding pursued a nightclub act. A year and a half after leaving television, he put together a successful touring show called the Amazing Fielding And Company. The show included illusions and hypnosis, which for after two years led him to Las Vegas. There he met Liberace who helped Fielding get his first break by showcasing his act at the Sahara Hotel. Since then he has been working all over the world as a featured star in large production shows and as an opening act for major stars. Fielding's career has now come full circle. He has appeared on a multitude of comedy specials and popular sitcoms. His talents go far beyond stage and screen. Fielding is also a successful comedy writer for other magicians and comedians. He is well-known in the corporate market as a fantastic performer. In a course he created, called Stagecraft 101, he manages speaking seminars for young performers which teach how to speak more effectively.
